How many times have we all said the words “I wish”? Probably, about a gazillion. And how many times have we said “I’m content?” Probably, shamefully few.
On that note, I’d like to share some thoughts here; not only from Ogilvy (our children’s book protagonist) but from a man whose vision and willingness to be himself changed our world and brought us the well-loved character, Mickey Mouse.
Much like Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse, our book character Ogilvy knows it’s important for children and adults to always be learning new things. Stretching yourself and trying to improve, that’s natural! But at some point, we need to accept our wonderful selves for all that we are and what we have to offer our friends, family and the whole world.
We are in control of how we react to things, how we treat others and how content we are, everyday. Walt Disney is quoted as saying “The more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else, which makes you unique.” What wonderful words to live by! So, let’s all take a deep breath, put on a big smile and be the best we can be, while appreciating just how amazing it to be just exactly who we are.
